Attractions and culinary treats for the whole family

This year’s Fruehlingsfest vibe can only be explained by the smart choice of carnival rides, modern power rides meet classical merry-go-rounds where relaxing rides take turns with the thrill seekers spin. This year Stuttgart hosts one of the spectacular free fall towers, the Power Tower. The good old Ghost ride “Ghost castle” is making a comeback, after an extended break from the Wasen, guaranteed creepy fun for all ages. Of course not to be forgotten are the all-time classics like the “Wilde Maus”, the “Break-Dance”, the Ferris wheel “Bellevue”, the wild water rafts and of course lots of fun rides for the little ones. Admirers of the traditional Kraemermarket are welcome to browse the many booths featuring home textiles, leather wears, kitchen wares, jewelry, teas and herbs under the shady King Karl Bridge.

Three large beer tents, the Alp hut village and about 40 smaller food stands will satisfy all your culinary cravings, relax on benches, inside the tents or even in an idyllic beer garden that will seat up to 250 guests. Crispy grilled chickens are part of every menu. If one prefers a vegetarian dish they should most defiantly give the classic Cheesespaetzle a try. But if you prefer the more exotic kitchen, sample one of the exquisite soups, exciting fish dish or even an edgy burger. Especially during lunchtime visitors can expect a huge selection of culinary offers. The candy and sweets booths are a sight all on their own.
The beer tents „Zum Wasenwirt“ (Festhosts Fritz and Armin Weeber), „Grandls Hofbräu Zelt“ (Festhost Hans Peter Grandl) und „Göckelesmaier“ (Festhost Karl Maier) will provide you with a proper German beer fest atmosphere. The music is one of the highlights in the tents, ranging from party hits to German brass music. A colorful all around program finishes off the celebrations.

The Fruehlingsfest, is traditionally opened with the official tapping of the beer keg by Stuttgart’s first Mayor Michael Föll. The Family days are as always a big part of the fest: rides, food booths and entertainers will offer discounts on all 3 Wednesdays, April 19th, 26th and on May 3rd, additionally, lots of surprises are waiting on the little visitors. Meeting the Mascots “Wasenhasi “and “Hasi”, face painting at the Canstatter Kanne, sweet treats or a ride with the fairytale merry-go-round are sure to make children’s eyes shine. The Hot air balloon race on Saturday April 29th is a sight to see for everyone.  About 15 hot air balloons drifting over the Wasen areal paint quite a picture. Kids are especially drawn to that. The spring fest comes to an end on Sunday May 7th, closing up with an impressive musical fireworks show. Starting at about 21:30 the sky will light up with a colorful sparkling lightshow that lasts about 15 minutes.
