0,25 liters of the cherry juice from the jar
4 level tbsp. of food starch
30 mil cherry schnaps

1. Step

For the sponge cake, beat sugar and eggs until foamy. Sift flour and cocoa powder and carefully fold it under the egg mix. Pour into a springform pan and bake it for 30 minutes at 375° F. Set the cake on a cooling rack once done.

2. Step

Pour a little of your cherry juice into a cup and heat the rest on the stove. Mix the food starch with the cherry juice in the cup and then add it to the cherry juice on the stove. Let the juice come to a rolling boil and stir it well. Remove the mix from the stove and add the cherries, return it to the stove and let it boil for a minute before setting it aside to cool. Slice the cake into 3 layers of equal size. whip the chilled cream with the sugar until it stiffens.

3. Step

Stir the cherry schnaps into the chilled cherry mixture and spread it onto the bottom layer of the cake. Add a layer of whipped cream and then stack the second layer of cake on top, press it down lightly and spread the rest of the cherry topping. Again, add a layer of the whipped cream and add the last layer of cake. Fill a piping bag with whipped cream and spread the rest of the whipped cream on the top and the side of the cake. Decorate the side of the cake with the shredded chocolate. Garnish the top of the cake with whipped cream roses along the edge and top the rosses with the cherries you saved earlier.
