Rooms in the Achalm HotelRooms

We opened our rooms with the key cards. Light, friendly, clean and modern. On the right hand side, you can find the en-suite bathroom with the large ground level shower. Even if the lights are switched off, daylight comes through the inbuilt window in the wall which separates the bathroom and sleeping room.

Then we recognized the amazing view which we got on the balcony. We took the free bottle of water which was provided, enjoyed some of it on the balcony and we felt like being on cloud number 9.

Furthermore, the room was equipped with a flat screen TV, air condition, a telephone, a sofa and free Wi-Fi. The bathroom also left nothing to be desired and was equipped with a make-up mirror, a hair dryer, an infrared lamp, a shower and sauna towels.

We could find seating facilities in the room as well as on the balcony.

Wellness

Enough about the room. We wanted to explore the small but fine wellness area. We took the lift down. Right after walking into the area, to our left we found water, tea and fruits which were offered to the guests for free. To our right, there were changing rooms which we did not have to use, as we wore the bath robes provided in our rooms. So we jumped straight in the Infinitypool; its entry was in the inside of the building. You have to wear swimwear when you use it, as it can be seen from some of the hotel rooms. Around it, there were deck chairs which can be used on warmer days.

The pool itself had pleasantly tempered water which invited us to swim. Furthermore there were seating facilities on the right hand side. The highlight of the pool is the seamless transition to the landscape which is made possible by the glass edge of the upper poolside. We were excited for the sauna and took off our clothes. The small and clear area had a quite large, black steam bath on the left. Right on the opposite, there was a small infrared sauna cabin. Passing the foot basins, showers and seating facilities, once again we enjoyed the incredible view above the pool and landscape whilst sitting in the Finnish sauna which included windows, before we went back to our rooms. People who enjoy a bit more motion can use the exercise equipment provided in the wellness area, so are deck chairs in order to relax.

Dinner

In order to get to the restaurant, we had to leave the hotel and walk a short distance outside to get to the Achalm.Restaurant. Umbrellas are provided in case it rains.

The choice of dishes was pretty good, various and structured. The prices of dishes and drinks were standard for a 4 Star Superior hotel. The quality was more than convincing. Every dish was good and all participants liked them a lot. The service staff were also very caring. Even the chef came up to our table to ask whether everything is ok. Strengthened by steaks, pasta, fish and the exceptional Swabian R20;MaultaschenR21;, we walked back to the hotel.

Dinning in the Achalm Hotel

The Bar in the Achalm Hotel

Bar

The bar is located near the reception area in the lobby as mentioned before. Nice lounge chairs, a large open fire place in the center, typical bar stools. A nice atmosphere to spend a pleasant time. If the bar is closed, alcohol free drinks and wine can be ordered with the friendly staff at the reception.

Breakfast

After a very relaxing nightR17;s sleep, we went to the breakfast area. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy your breakfast outside on the big terrace. The breakfast was done with fresh ingredients and it was presented very nicely. Different kinds of sausages and cheeses, toppings, fresh fruits and bread rolls made it hard to choose. The coffee was provided at a self-service coffee machine.

If you like fresh juices, I would recommend the orange juice.

The guests are allowed to press their own juice, but do not worry, the machine does all the work. We also have to mention that we rarely R11; actually never R11; had better tomatoes gratinated with cheese. You could also find more warm dishes such as sausages, eggs, bacon and waffles. For the sporty people, there were cereals and the homemade "Birchlermüsli"

The friendly staff was there to re fill the dishes and to assist with the coffee and juice machines.

Departure

Time to depart, unfortunately. We checked out of the hotel and we were bid farewell as friendly as we were welcomed.

Conclusion

The Achalm.Hotel in the outskirts of Stuttgart welcomes its guests in a very friendly manner, with a modern design and a small wellness area with its highlight, the Infinitypool, and its view over Reutlingen and the surrounding landscape.
