The “Gartenschau” garden show in Kaiserslautern is reopening its gates on March 30, 2019. Known as one of the most popular outdoor hang outs in the area, this place is perfect for a family with younger children. The garden show is laid out like a huge park, with flowerbeds, walking trails, several playgrounds for kids (even some water ones), a barefoot trail, several themed gardens, a shop and, of course, the dinosaur trail.

Throughout the season the garden show is the also host of many events, from medieval markets to the beloved pumpkin exhibition. Seasonal tickets are available for sale and are a great way to save some cash if you plan on hanging out there a lot.

During springtime, the garden show has beautiful tulip, daffodil and other spring flower displays making it the perfect location for some gorgeous spring time photos. Even the Easter Bunny stops by during Easter to meet up with the kids and hand out little goodies.

During the summer the park is a wonderful place to let your kids run and play in the water play grounds or explore the many dinosaurs. There are plenty of areas where you can sit and enjoy a picnic. For some extra fun, there is a skater area set up and a little miniature golf parkour. There are several snack bars or bistros set up throughout the park to keep hungry visitors content. The beer garden is always a popular hangout, especially during the hot summer months.

The whole park area is a dog free zone, so Fido has to either stay home or take advantage of the kennel offered at the park; the personnel will be happy to assist you with that.

The Gartenschau is located on Lauterstrasse, 67659 Kaiserslautern, right next to the cultural center Kammgarn. There are also several restaurants close by to finish the day off with a nice dinner.

The park is open Monday through Sunday from 9am till 7pm, but visitors are allowed to stay on the premises until dusk.

Have a wonderful day out at the park!!
